All Right Ladies~ the moment we have been anticipating for a few weeks now. We have read the first 5 chapters (or more), we have purchase, prepared and placed the meat bucket safely in the fridge. No cottage cheese~ no worry! We have backup plans... rely on your egg whites, meat and broccoli for it is only a week! We can do anything for a week (or more) but in this case, lets achieve 7 days and be proud of that!!
I am ready to hit the pillow and dream of egg whites with a dash of onion an

d a touch of shredded cheddar cheese... Carb Deplete Week is HERE!! The sooner we start, the sooner we will learn about change:-)
See you tomorrow Crack the Fat Loss Code Gang!
TT
PS: the kids took this photo tonight of, yet again, "Mom with Meat". Dave says I am a "meat-a-terian" and the dog thinks I am going to share~ "Yeah Right!!!"

Hello Everyone,
Well, I spent the day cutting, steaming, cooking, measuring on my new digital scale and organizing my foods for the week. I will be traveling to Italy 1/16-1/20 to visit my husband for the long weekend. I have already planned my meals...eggs in the morning (instead of cornetto); snack-handy dandy tuna bag; lunch-seafood salad, broccoletti, calamari; snack-protein shake; dinner-chicken/turkey breast, spinach, cucumbers. The workout will be walking down and up the 2 part hill in our neighborhood.
Looking forward to this week. Also, are we able to have plain yogurt this week maybe in place of cottage cheese? Thanks.
All the best to you all, WE CAN DO THIS!!!
let's hear it for egg whites!!
Happy first day of the plan my Cracker friends!
See some of you at the gym in a bit!
totally inspiring to see LOTS of CRACKERS at the gym this morning..I'm telling you, this group thing is going to be the biggest help to ALL!
Got my 40 min of elliptical done and will do abs and weights at home.
So far so good!
Hope everyone else is doing well!
Donna, Sure is amazing what you can do with the strength of your sisters!!
Hopefully as we teach our body what it really needs... it will become the preferred way of living out the rest of our days... healthy, fit and happy! So much of what we do physically has such positive mental impact! I sure do like being assured that I am putting "high octane" into the engine instead of sugar water... makes me feel GOOD!!
Donita, unfortunately my dear LadyLifter... cottage cheese does not equal yogurt. Cottage cheese can run from 1 to 15g of carbs a serving.... yogurt 15 to 55g of carbs per. I realize we are missing a key part of the strategic plan but we will just have to make do. I know that our Yongsan Commissary said it should have CC on the shelf by Tuesday... my fingers are crossed:-)
~1/2 way thru day 1, with love!!
TT
Donita,
BTW~ how about MPS-ing me some of that glorious Italian Calamari?? I sure do miss my favorite
little restaurant on St. Marco Square in Venice - I think I may just need a Trainer's TDY to Italy rather soon... to see you and Sal and eat Calamari~ :-)
Do you think that eating 5 mini snickerbars really affected my first day on the "carb deplete day one???""
Tomorrow will be better right:-)
It's not the size of the woman in the fight, but the size of the fight in the woman!!!
snickers? did someone say snickers?
now that is not funny...actually my crystal light pro shake tasted just like a snickers..NOT!
I am looking forward to my salmon, asparagus and broc for dinner........mmmmmmmmmmm
OK~ now I know we are ateffective carb depletion stage 1 when we start joking about snickers bars via the blogwaves... you gals are too funny!
Actually if I close my eyes really hard, I can visualize (and almost taste) chocolate stacciatella gelato and a nice cup of cappuccino to follow it :-)Yumm!
But I also think salmon with asparagus and broccoli is yummy too!
I guess.... "Yum is in the mind of the beholder"

Fellow Crackers
I feel beat down. No carbs and my second week at the CDC! I have done well today and it is because of planning. Last night I planned how and what I would eat at work. Because of my job, my breaks don't always work as they should so I had a south beach bar and cut in half and then cut it up more and put it in two baggies. Lunch was good with my salad, tuna. Right now for dinner I am baking my fish and fixing broccoli. I have a small journal that I am tracking my food. I have set it up just like Wendy has in her book. I am glad I did it because I had totally missed how she tells you (p/o/v)to eat at each meal. So before I go bed tonight I am going to have my lunch bag ready again. I also love my egg beaters in the AM. I know it is going to get better, I just have to hang in there. Also I have started walking again and working with small kids is really keeping me moving. Keep up the good work my fellow Crackers!!
Cynthia
I just want to comment that I used the egg whites from egg beaters this morning and I salted while cooking - so for those of you who haven't used them ever either may I recommend that you not salt until you taste the end result because I had a very salty - edible but still salty egg - and looking at the nutrition info there are 3 grams of sodium per one serving!! Just FYI!! Tomorrow will be a great day! And I had salmon tonight with broccoli and a yummy salad with sliced mushrooms! A better life one meal at a time!
Now, I was reading about the amount of protein grams I am to consume each day. Lisa and I were able to determine my lean body weight as being 134, so that means I can eat 134 grams of protein each day divided into 5 or 6 meals which would mean 22.8 grams for 6 meals correct? Just checking because in the book it states that women should eat 3oz-4oz of protein at each meal. Thanks for assisting with the clarification.
Tracey,
You know there is room for you and Dave anytime you are ready for the sun, fun and protein filled FOOD!
Will I see you this weekend??? :)
Tamasine,
You are funny! Don't buy the little sinful goodies! :)
Good luck with tomorrow. We need to forgive ourselves and move on....not dwell in the past. Live in the present.
Rock on, Ladies!
I am tracking my workouts and food consumption on training peaks. My fitness trainer here in Ramstein is able to login and see what I have been doing daily as well as weekly. How's that for accountability?
Ok, today wasn’t too bad. I stayed in the lanes of what I was supposed to do, but I must admit I am craving something yummy right now! I wish I could say the same thing for my hubby though. He ate his lunch that I packed for him and except for the handful of almonds (bad I know) he did great. Ashley and I got a little worried after dinner when he threatened to shave my dog and eat her! He thought a 2lb yorkie would be low on the carbs...Look out day 2.
oh MY! Do I need to hide the Oz???
Bad Kevin!
You can do this and it will get better....enjoy your shake s l o w l y....
I don't know if I have not eaten enough, but my tummy is rumbling and I thought I had what I was supposed to for dinner..
day 1 is done, now let's see what creative things we will do for tomorrow!
welcome to day 2
tad headachey, little fuzzy (Donna's norm) but feeling all right! Slept in so no gym this morning, but will go tonight!
Hope everyone else is feeling all right. See some of you at the luncheon..I'll be packing my tuna!!!
~Small Victory Log Entry #2~ I ate my Day 2 Breakfast of eggbeaters and did a bit of a superior dance this morning. My kids ate eggos with peanut butter on them and as always they left me the "bones". I pushed them off the plate into the trash instead of into my mouth where they usually find themselves!!
Yahoo!!
To all my fellow Crackers!
I love the discussions and support for each other. The key is to turn to the blog when you feel, as Cazz said, "beaten down" or if you are as fortunate as Donita and able to think clearly enough to actually divide 134 by 6 ... I have to ask, "Donita, did you use a calculator or are you just not in the fuzzy zone yet?" LoL
Aundrea, just a suggestion~ save the 2 lb yorkie for an emergency when you run out of protein on Monday and the Commissary is closed. Remember to divide 32oz by 6!!
Tamasine... I love your one line inspirationals... "A better life one meal at a time!" What a great way of looking at this process for sure!
So on Day 1, I realized that my calorie burn hits in the afternoon/evening... I can go all day right on plan and then after dinner... watch out!! I am on the hunt~ I habitually stalk and graze on carbs... last night was beyond difficult and I continually reached for water, tea, decaf coffee and more water. I WANTED MY CARB FIX!! But I didn't give into my addiction... I will break the chemical process in a few days if I hold fast to the plan:-)
And my only Carb Deplete Moment for yesterday (except for mixing up my words quite often... ) this morning at 4am I showered, had my pre-workout egg white, put make-up on and once bundled up. I grabbed my keys off the hook by the front door and as I am turning in the dark to close it, I looked down to ask myself, "why are you carrying the dogs leash with you to the gym?" My dog, as with most of the sane world, was fast asleep at 4:50am:-) I quietly placed the dog leash back on its hook near the front door and continued on my way... I have a feeling the remainder of the week should be rather interesting indeed.
Day 2 is here and I am going to take it with a smile:O)
