Smile Crackers!!... It is Day 3!

Hey Gals,
We are chugging along and making it! Not an easy task and as you can read in your comment... thread, some are feeling it more than others. That is normal since our bodies survival triggers are all different. Headaches are big on the list and hunger is another... both physical responses to what is happening in the chemical processes of the body. It is sort of like when you fill up the tank in your car... run all over post for 48 straight hours and then the warning light comes on as you run the needle toward "E". Your engine and car's system says, " Hey DUMMY! If you don't want to have to take the gas can and walk your sorry *&% to the gas station then you better not mess around... go recharge at the pump. I am warning you... you have less than 1/4 a tank left". Well our headaches and hunger are the "warning light" . Everyone's threshold for "warning" that the tank is getting lower than it normally should, is a bit different. The feeling of hunger is because we are running out of quick energy fuel and having to rely on the conversion of fat to give us our spark. It is more difficult for the body to tap into this fat source so it wants the easy way... what our body is yelling is "just fill the tank (with carbs) and you won't have to walk with gas can in hand (take the hard way of converting fat)"... sure is tempting to go the easy route but once we get used to keeping the gas can full in the trunk of the car~ we wont worry about running out of "gas" cuz we can just pull out the can and drop in a bit of fuel from the reserve tank (carb cycle). We want to tap into the fat stores and use fat for fuel and we want to get used to that process... it takes time but it will happen~
We are almost half way there so stay in the game and stay focused!!

Crackers... Rock on with Day Number 3!!

To the BUNCO group that was Carb Depleting.... way to go last night!! and for all the AFSC Luncheon folks that succeeded... way to go yesterday afternoon! All over the world we are supporting and helping each other to do this! But as we all did... we still participated in our daily activities and made the whole thing work for us.

My headache arrived this morning with avengence... my fuzziness and hunger was very evident at BUNCO last night(results of my stomach shrinking and geting used to the lack of readily available carbs). Adding up to 3 became a challenge and willpower was tested by the brie rings and nachos with cream cheese dip The crackers had water all the time and ate from the marinated meat chunks that became our dinner:-) I had a 3 Brazil nuts but no M&M's I am proud to say. And I am ready to ditch the headache in Day 3...
Be prepared and get it done today Ladies!!

I am making lunch for John and myself and feeling very proud. I even bought a regular romaine lettuce head and not the bagged kind. I am also feeling a bit clearer. Is it the jet-lag or the fat wearing off? No headaches this morning but I was really hungry when I woke up. I am having really weird dreams too. Thank you all for this blog. It is really helping me.

OK, Ladies....I had the hardest time not grabbing M & Ms and the other yummy sbacks at Bunco, but with the help of Lisa and Tracey....I hung in there and just munched on steak bites that Tracey brought....I was so sleepy this morning that I got the kids out to school and went right back to bed until 10:30.....Guess I will start the day with lunch after a shower...I am thankful for my obsession with the Twilight book series because it keeps me away from food and just daydreaming of Edward the vampire.....

Ok some ideas to make the time pass - go get a pedicure about 1500hrs when the afternoon drag hits - you'll feet will love you for it! And this morning I got my teeth cleaned - not there is an incentive not to eat!! Wear your shades if you see me coming cuz Baby What A Smile!!!

HI Ladies. I had to fast for 12 hours for blood work so I carried a turkey lettuce wrap with me and ate it the minute I got done (in an attempt to get rid of the headache). I know I am on the right track though because when I made spaghetti for my kids tonight I tested two strands by chewing them - but then I spit them out without eating them. I NEVER pass on pasta so onward to day 4.

the entire Yongsan garrison is talking about the ladies on the "diet" TOO FUNNY! I tell em all to jump on the wagon and do this with us! Neat to hear all the comments I overheard today.
hi ho, hi ho.....

... I think half the reason that the Garrison is all abuzz about us Lady Crackers is the fact that we are all so incredibly involved throughout this community and that we are truly making a determined change. Folks cannot deny we are a rowdy band of gals on a mission to succeed. We are getting rather important attention and if it convinces one person to make a change along with us~ how cool is that?!
I will retire with my somewhat dull headache in hopes that it will go away tomorrow.
