Week 5 is here and so many of those ladies that I see in the community who are cracking the code are surely realizing the fruits of their labor. All over town I am witnessing, and so is the rest of the garrison, ladies with a sense of pride in the fact that they are in control of their nutrition, their health and their lives.
Getting through the first 4 weeks of Cracking the Fat Loss Code with Lunar New Year's functions, the Super Bowl parties, military balls, and AFSC luncheons has been a true test to the cohesiveness and fortitude of our team to support one another with a determined focus.
Our weekly meetings continue to be an open forum that attracts our veterans and newcomers alike. On last Friday, Adele and Beth joined us to find out more about KOPIK Club and all the buzz at the Chosun Gift Shop (thanks to Viv and Donna). Adele didn't waste any time to begin her Carb Deplete Week... she started on Saturday at the Why Catholic Retreat and if you could have seen our faces when we learned that the menu for lunch was soup and bread and then our elation as we walked thru the line and spotted the beautiful roast beef and turkey meat and veggie tray. We were two very happy women!
Crackers~ you are a presence of great influence and importance in our community. With each word of success that is spoken, we have the opportunity to recruit one more person to join us or at least share what we are trying to achieve.
Our goals are getting closer with each passing week.... and I highly encourage any of you that haven't begun to "move" since starting "The Code", to do it!
You will enjoy the two-fold benefit of when quality nutrition and physical exercise come together to help you achieve total wellness. You will walk taller and you will see the difference!
So join me at Collier... check out the free classes, the variety of cardio equipment or if you have always wanted to learn how to lift weights... I think they may have a pretty decent personal trainer on staff ~ LoL
Keep up the Code busting and smile... you all are incredible!!
Always,
TT

Donna,
I like the red dress. No muffin top that I can see - keep on chugging!!
Laurie
Vivi,
I didn't know that was you in the other red dress. You look great. I did not catch that it was you until I saw the pix on facebook. I love the dress. Kristi looks great too. Way to go.
Laurie
Crackers,
I have LOTS to say but unfortunately I cannot think straight to spill my heart out. Nothing bad is happening, suffice it to say some "frustration" back in the US with the eldest son and his plane tickets. When this is not a top worry, I PROMISE I will say all I have been wanting to on here. And no, I will not stuff my face because of this little crisis, and I MEAN it. I have come WAY too far these past 29 days to blow it.
Be back later in a better frame of mind!!!
oops, before I forget,
WELCOME to Sheila and her 2 co-workers back in DC..they started the program TODAY!!! Hope to see all 3 (and our local starters) very soon!
thanks for the vote of confidence Laurie!
Donna,
Our thoughts and strength are with you. It is never easy when life throws you a curve but remember that finding your way to the gym if even for 30 mins or simply lacing up and going for a brisk walk will take the edge off your frustration and that urge to "take it out on yourself" by eating junk.
Love You... Blog and talk about it!! We are here to listen...
:-)
Tracey
Donna: I'm sorry to hear that but we are here to support you. If you need a body I'm here and we can go to walk our doggies. I know you are not going to stuff yourself but just in case don't stay at home go to the gym or just stop by in Chosun I'll be there tomorrow. Take care and you'll see everything is going to be ok!
Donna-
Hang in there. Sometimes we have to bealone in our thougths...just know you are not alone in spirit. You have an entire community that supports you!
Karen
wow. You crackers are all awesome gals. Thanks for all the uplifting, I needed it. In a nutshell, our oldest was having some difficulty in getting his tickets to come here and getting his leave approved. The only contact I have with him is skype, and if he doesn't pick up I know nothing. Anyway, they has us pretty spun up for the past few days and much as I would like to strangle them it is over and done and they arrive here on thurs night and leave thurs night.
Bad case of too many things going on in my life (just like eveyrone else) but this is the FIRST time I have been in control of my eating and not gone off the deep end with food. I think this is a BIG nsv (non scale victory).
Now, on the week 5 note.. I am not going to weigh myself for the next few weeks because I am not seeing any scale love. I lost 9 lb and that is all. However, I am losing inches, so that is some consolation. Unfortunately, my head is still stuck in the scale mentality so it is best for me to avoid. Good notes? I have been sticking to the plan very well, and am feeling extremely good physically and mentally. I am not craving chocolate lately, and am truely satisfied with the foods I am eating. If it is not a 2 carb day it doesn't bother me because I know I will have one soon. I hope to keep this mental attitude for the rest of my life and continue to make this body beautiful!!
I hope this all made sense...
oh and before I forget, yoga class is tonight (5:15-6:15, and then pilates, 6:30-7:00! Come join 3 of your fellow crackers!!!!!
Donna,
I have not budged from losing 6 lbs and so am not really using the scale either. I can tell I am toning up though. 9 lbs is nothing to dismiss. As someone once told me long ago - losing 5 lbs is like getting rid of a 5 lb bag of flour that you no longer need to fit in your clothes. I think that is a pretty good visualization. So you have the equivalent of 2 bags of flour that you are no longer zipping up over and/or trying to tuck in. No wonder that red dress looked so good!
Laurie
thanks Laurie! That was really sweet!
Just got back from a "cracker attack" (a group of 4 or more crackers together) and the vibes are awesome!!! Can ya feel them? How much do YOU love to hear, hey girl, your britches are SAGGIN? Well, that sentence is being shouted out amongst us...and even with the "others" looking over our shoulders and saying, geez, I don't know how you can eat like that, WE KNOW how GREAT we feel!!
Yes ,my friends, life is good with my faithful cracker friends.
Something we ALL need to do is encourage all our newest crackers in their first week of the plan. It just dawned on me that they need extra support since the majority of us are in week 5. So, the challenge is:
extra ((((hugs))) and support to our newest gals!
Now I am going to do something constructive....hehehehe
Edele:
I didn't put nothing yesterday because I was tired, but you did great at AFSC lunch you have to feel very proud of yourself. You bring your own proteine and because you did yesterday you can do it anytime. I know the first week is a killer but you'll see the result saturday and after that is going to be much much easier. Good job and my friend Cracker all of you rock!!!
Crackers!
My apologies for disappearing for the last few days... we are thru the toughest part of it all for now and Zack is home from the hospital so I must get back on the blog and talk...it does my heart good to be with all of you !
And the word for today is.... Karen you know it.... "GAP-O-SIS" def: when you lose enough body fat and weight to need a safety pin to tighten and hold up the pants that just weeks ago were snug on your waist. Many Crackers are being stricken by a wave of GAP-O-SIS on Yongsan!!
How awesome is that???
See you all Friday at the Library!!
Love,
Tracey
PS: My sincerest gratitude to all who lifted me up and kept me in a healthy place during this last 4 days. Life is good when you have the love of your friends!!
((((((Tracey))))))
now off to enjoy my
WINE (1 glass, of course!)
cracker O!
Thanks for the hug Donna~

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing today.. Tracey, I know you are feeling better now that your son is home and dh is on his way. (or already here?)
I am fabulous, met a friend for cardio this morning and then another friend to yoga. I declare this is take a friend to exercise day! Maybe that is an idea for next week???
Anyway, crazy busy with the son and daughter in laws arrival today, then a dinner tonight with some csms and spouses, then tomorrow is an all day fun filled conference with the csm spouses!
Which means of course I cannot attend the meeting of the crackers, but hope to see LOTS of blogs as far as what is going on..
I hope you all got my pumpkin idea today via the kopik group...I am actually STILL full from my protein pumpkin oatmeal!
gotta run, but sending extra love out to Tracey and giant hugs for crackers!
Thanks Donna, we will miss you tomorrow at the meeting but I am sure we will see one another on the streets:-)
Here is a double kudo going out tonight to Kristi and Karen, who both enjoyed an evening out with their MCCW friends at Commisskeys and ate 1/2 a portion of salmon with veggies and no carb. Our meal was perfect, as was our conversation and sisterhood.
Also would like to welcome a new cracker to our group... Ms. Laurie Kalleberg. She is a devoted member of our 121 Staff of Medical Professionals and she is in day 5 of CD Week. She needs our support so lets be sure to welcome her to the KOPIK Club...
I will see you all tomorrow at the library!
Love,
TT
KOPIK Ladies of the Library Group,
My apologies for not making the meeting yesterday... I found out that my services were requested in two places at once and I knew that you would all simply support on another and carry on without me in fine style so I chose to present to the CSM Spouses Conference. I hope it was a good meeting and you will have to let us know all about it:-)
At my meeting, I think we may have attained a few new Crackers and that is a blessing to celebrate...
Lets share as we move into Week 6. What are the successes and challenges that you have encountered??
Stay Strong!
Always,
Tracey
Tracey,
I really appreciated the fact that you came to the conference on friday. Your audience was totally caught up in what you were saying because
IT IS SIMPLE and MAKES SENSE.
Bottom line!
I apologize to our crackers for us not being there but some good came out of it!
Now, WHERE are our crackers????
How is everyone doing?
I am doing all right, have not been journaling for 3 days to just plain being in a tizzy. No excuse so tomorrow I am back to pen and paper.
Please drop a note, I need to hear how things are for everyone!
goodnight!
Donna,
As always, it was my privilege and thank you for letting me express my passion...and hopefully inspire and spark their curiosity on how they can improve their wellness.
I love to present to a small group such as the ladies on Friday and the setting was perfect. To talk while having a healthy lunch is the most relaxed and nonthreatening way to get ladies to ask questions. When I stand and use the slides it makes my message a bit more "teacher/student" in nature. I feel it is impactive to make it casual because people are more apt to ask and learn when we are sitting in a round table format.
I appreciate you asking me to share my knowledge and also for your compliment... your critique was sincere. I take pride in your words and internalize all that I do in this profession so that I can make a connection and possibly help one more person to choose a healthier path.... thank you Donna!
